In the series work of HALF HALF, I chose a few items that are closely related to us in our lives, like the cup and door handle. Actually, this work is more like a dialogue with the my own home in China. When my hands touch them, the memory about home becomes more clearly and longing for home becomes more intense. At that moment, these everyday objects lost their original functions, but became a medium of dialogue, to communicate with home, with the past. Different from the last one, in this work I pay more attention to the contrast between the real tactile sensation and the false memory. Moreover, this is a dialogue between the present and the past. So, I chose use glass wax to replicate only half of every item.
